Applying Mental Models Outside UX

mental models

At the 2010 IA Summit, I presented a poster on a mental modeling project. We extended Indi Young's original diagram to contain three major sections, instead of the usual two: constituent needs, services & initiatives, and organizational capacity. For more on the original, I recommend Chris Baum's interview with Indi on Boxes and Arrows.

The poster presents:

  • Our Scenario
  • Lessons Learned
  • Refinements to the Method

It's my favorite poster.
